Starting a new job is daunting for anyone especially if you're starting as a brand new doctor during the COVID-19 pandemic.
So it is really refreshing to see that help is at hand for new Foundation interim year 1 (FiY1) doctors.
wellmedic.co.uk is a fantastic initiative set up by Dr Sham Mahmood, a GP trainee based in Mersey. His first webinar was a huge success and covered all things financial - an important and often overlooked aspect of medical training.
Today I had the pleasure of joining Dr Kieran McCarthy (paediatric registrar) and Dr Jaz Seehra (foundation year 2 - soon to be paediatric surgical trainee) for a great session called 'Scary seniors'.
We covered some intimidating scenarios when juniors interact with seniors during handover, presenting patients on ward rounds, making referrals and asking for advice. At the end there was even time for a Q&A session with live questions from the audience.
